(1) JK Rowling, creator of the Harry Potter series, the most successful children’s book titles in literary history, has secretly married her fiancé Dr. Neil Murray. (2) The couple, who have been inseparable for the past year, was married on Boxing Day at Killiechassie House, Rowling remote Scottish home which she bought for &500,000 last month. (3) The writer’s eight-year daughter Jessica and from her first marriage was one of three bridesmaids at the small ceremony, to which only 15 close family and friends had been invited. (4) Extraordinary lengths were taken to keep the wedding secret, including the hiring of caterers from 50 miles outside the area, but confirmation came from her Rowling’s agent Christopher Little. (5)Killiechassie House, which on the banks of the River Tay, dates back to 1865 and is not unlike Hogwarts school, where Harry Potter learnt his wizardry. (6) It is the second marriage for both bride and groom. (7) The marriage broke after a year, when Rowling, desperately unhappy, returned to Edinburgh with her an infant daughter. (8) Having no sources of income, she would walk the city to tire out her daughter before sitting for hours in a cafe that owned by her brother-in-law to pen the first book of what was to become the world-wide literary phenomenon of Harry Potter. (9) Today the five books have sold 124m worldwide.
