Сравните два отрывка. В них приводится одно и то же описание. Определите, которое из них принадлежит перу Олдоса Хаксли — знаменитого автора Crome Yellow, а которое — пересказ студента-отличника. Определить это Вам не составит труда. Несколько сложнее будет объяснить ваш выбор. Труднее всего объяснять очевидное.
1) On three stone pillars there was a small shed two or three feet above the grass. There was always shade there, and the grass below it was long. There in the dark, in the damp space a family of white ducks was resting from the heat of the afternoon sun. Some ducks were cleaning themselves and others were resting on their bellies as if in water instead of grass. They uttered some little sounds, communicating, and some of them shook their tales. Suddenly their pleasant rest was broken. A sudden thump shook the floor of the shed and pieces of wood and dirt fell on their heads. With a loud quacking the ducks rushed from danger and didn’t stop until they reached the farm-yard.
2) Perched on its four stone mushrooms, the little granary stood two or three feet above the grass of the green close. Benath it there was a perpetual shade and a damp growth of long, luxuriant grasses. Here, in the shadow, in the green dampness, a family of white ducks had sought shelter from the afternoon sun. Some stood, preening themselves, some reposed with their long bellies pressed to the ground, as there the cool grass were water. :itt;e social noises burst fitfully forth, and from time to time some pointed tail would execute a brilliant Lisztian tremolo. Suddenly their jovial repose was shattered. A prodigous thump shool the wooden flooring above their heads4 the whole granary trembled, little fragments of dirt and crumbled wood rained down among them. With a loud, continuous quackingthe ducks rushed out from benath this nameless menace, and did not stay their flight till they were safely in the farmyard. |
