Closing Actions and procedures required to efect the successful conclusion of a busi- ness transaction; consummation of the sale; in accounting, when the books  are summarized into fnancial statements for a specifc time frame and no  further entries are allowed for this period.

Closely Held Corporation A corporation owned by a few individuals, who also own all the stock. No  stock in the corporation is publicly traded. State regulations administer the  establishment of corporations.

Closed Corporation
A corporation whose shares of stock are held by only a few people, usually  by those who are in active management positions.
